ATM Predictive models of Cash management

The thesis deals with the solution of prediction of consumption and replenishment of cash (CZK) in the ATM network of Moneta Money Bank, a.s. The beginning of the thesis is devoted to the description of the need for cash and ATMs in Europe and specifically in the Czech Republic for the overall framing of the need for currency in the digital economy. Starting with a description of the ATM network environment in the bank and the risk and cash management in banks, through a specific description of the setting of the environment in Moneta, the thesis progresses through theoretical optimization models to a search for solutions in the market and academic work from Europe and Asia. The solution section describes the objectives of the thesis, explains the concept of Cash Management in a bank, describes the input data, the time series prediction solution, and the newly used IT systems of the bank. The new procedures and process flowchart after the project are described. In the final section, the results are compared with the objectives of the thesis, the business case of the solution that exceeded expectations is presented and the implications for Data-governance and data quality are also summarized. The last part is devoted to the areas that were uncovered by the project and not addressed by this work and described in the thesis.
