Knowledge of athletes' motivation from the point of view of a sports club manager

| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu znalosti motivace mladistvých sportovců od 6-ti do 18-ti let ve vybraných tenisových klubech v Ústeckém kraji a zda manažeři vycházejí ze znalosti motivace svých svěřenců pro tvorbu klubových cílů. Data byla sesbírána pomocí dotazníkového šetření vycházejícího z metody PALMS-Y v kombinaci s polo-strukturovanými rozhovory s trenéry a rodiči. Pro zjištění různých závislostí mezi proměnnými byly provedeny statistické testy, kde závislými proměnnými byly pohlaví, věk a klub. Nezávislými proměnnými poté byly faktory motivace vycházející z dotazníku. Pro analýzu rozhovorů byla použita analýza obsahová. Z práce vyplývá, že pro děti, bez ohledu na věk, pohlaví a klub, jsou nejdůležitějšími faktory zábava a potěšení, dokonalost, fyzická kondice a afiliace. Tyto faktory motivace, se poté ve většině klubech shodují s cíli dotazovaných klubů. Na základě zjištěných dat z dotazníku a rozhovorů byly doporučeny trenérům a rodičům vhodné kroky, které by měly učinit ke správné motivaci dětí a propojenosti s cíli všech zúčastněných stran. |

| Abstract: | The diploma thesis deals with the issue of motivation of youth athletes from 6 to 18 years of age in selected tennis clubs in the Ústí nad Labem region and whether managers are based on knowledge of the motivation of their wards to create club goals. Data were collected using a questionnaire survey based on the PALMS-Y method in combination with semi-structured interviews with coaches and parents. Statistical tests were performed to determine the different dependencies between the variables, where the dependent variables were gender, age and club. The independent variables were then the motivation factors based on the questionnaire. Content analysis was used to analyze the interviews. The work shows that for children, regardless of age, gender and club, the most important factors are fun and pleasure, perfection, physical condition and affiliation. These motivation factors then corelate with the goals of the interviewed clubs, except some exceptions. Based on the data obtained from the questionnaire and interviews, appropriate steps were recommended to coaches and parents to take the right motivation for the children and the connection with the goals of all parties involved. |
