| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis analyzes the hosting of sporting mega-events in the concept of sports diplomacy. The purpose of the thesis is to identify the benefits and impacts of organizing FIFA in South Africa in 2010 in the context of sports diplomacy by identifying the main aspects of political, economic, and sociocultural, related to the organization of international sporting events. The first part of the work examines the theoretical basis associated with sports diplomacy, its definition, goals and tools. The second part focuses on the analysis of sports diplomacy in the African continent, in particular, mega-events hosted in South Africa and the role of football in South African sport in the concept of sports diplomacy. The final part of the thesis deals with the case study of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. By identifying the benefits and drawbacks of hosting such an event from the economic, political and socio-cultural sides, the successes and failures of the event are accessed. |

| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje pořádání sportovních megaakcí v pojetí sportovní diplomacie. Účelem závěrečné práce je identifikovat přínosy a dopady pořádání FIFA v Jihoafrické republice v roce 2010 v kontextu sportovní diplomacie pomocí identifikace hlavních aspektů, jako jsou politické, ekonomické a sociokulturní, související s pořádáním mezinárodních sportovních akcí. První část práce zkoumá teoretická východiska spojená se sportovní diplomacií, její definici, cíle a nástroje. Druhá část se zaměřuje na analýzu sportovní diplomacie na africkém kontinentu, konkrétně na megaakce pořádané v Jihoafrické republice a na roli fotbalu v jihoafrickém sportu v pojetí sportovní diplomacie. Závěrečná část práce se zabývá případovou studií Mistrovství světa ve fotbale 2010. Identifikací výhod a nevýhod pořádání takové akce z ekonomické, politické a sociokulturní stránky lze získat přístup k úspěchům a neúspěchům akce. |
