Contemporary foreign policy of Vietnam

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the current foreign policy of Vietnam. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the current foreign policy of Vietnam and to achieve this aim, the methods of analysis, description and comparison are used. The work is divided into four main chapters, while the first part focuses on the theoretical basis of foreign policy as such. The second chapter deals with Vietnam from a brief historical context, emphasizing the concept of Vietnamese state sovereignty and national interest. The third most extensive part is devoted to the analysis of Vietnam's foreign policy relations, in three main eras. This is the colonial era associated with Franco-Vietnamese relations, followed by the Vietnam War, with Vietnam's relations with the United States playing a major role here, and last but not least, a significant part is also devoted to contemporary Sino-Vietnamese relations. The last chapter deals with a preliminary summary of research results, it is a summary section of the whole work. The research helped to answer selected research question, and with the help of a detailed analysis, it was possible to identify changes in Vietnam's state sovereignty and the extent to which these changes subsequently affected Vietnam's national interests.
