Design and implementation of a web application for event management using the ReactJs framework

| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá návrhem a implementací webové aplikace pro správu akcí s využitím frameworku ReactJs. Jejím cílem je vytvořit aplikaci, která uživateli umožní pohled na řešené pracovní prostředí z různých rolí, které jej následně vedou k tvorbě záznamů o plánovaných společenských akcích, monitorování jejich přehledu a uchovávání dat vázajících se k jejich následnému uspořádání. V úvodní části této práce je čtenář seznámen s problematikou týkající se pořádání společenských akcí. Jsou zde vymezeny základní skupiny pracovníků a pro tuto práci zásadní termín – společenská akce. K zhotovení co možná nejvýstižnějšího návrhu aplikace autor provedl explorativní předvýzkum, který měl podobu analýzy konkurenčních aplikací na trhu a byl doplněn o kvalitativní šetření v podobě rozhovorů se zástupci zacílených skupin pracovníků. Na základě těchto dat byly definovány požadované funkční a nefunkční vlastnosti aplikace Club Action Manager. Po představení návrhu byla další část práce věnována implementaci aplikace. V rámci této části byly představeny zásadní implementační kroky, struktura projektu, technologický balíček a inicializace celé aplikace. Na závěr práce prošla aplikace testovací fází, kdy byly autorem manuálně otestovány její předem definované funkční vlastnosti. V souvislosti s testovací fází byla aplikace nasazena na produkční prostředí, ke kterému se vztahovalo již druhé šetření, tentokrát však kvantitativní, týkající se účelnosti vyvinuté aplikace. Na základě položených otázek byl zjištěn 76 % souhlas s dosažením předem stanoveného cíle. (tzn. Hodnocení respondentů 4 a více) Výsledkem práce je funkční aplikace, jež naplňuje podmínky stanovené v zadání. Manuální testy prošly s úspěšností 86 %, kdy zbylých 14 % nemá zásadní vliv na chod aplikace. Představený proces vývoje a poznatky obsažené v této práci by čtenáři měli dodat představu o běžných i nadstandardních procesech týkajících se vývoje webových SPA. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis deals with the design and implementation of a web application for event management using the ReactJs framework. Its goal is to create an application that allows users to view the work environment from different roles, which allow them to create records of upcoming social events, monitoring event’s overview and storing data related to their subsequent organization. In the introductory part of this work, the reader is acquainted with the issues related to the organization of social events. There are defined basic groups of workers and a fundamental term for this work - social events. To make the most accurate application design possible, the author conducted exploratory preliminary research, which took the form of an analysis of similar applications on the market and was supplemented by a qualitative survey in the form of interviews with representatives from targeted groups of workers. Based on this data, the required functional and non-functional properties of the Club Action Manager application were defined. After the presentation of the design, another part of the work was devoted to the implementation of the application. Within this part, the basic implementation steps, the project structure, the technology stack, and the initialization of the entire application were presented. At the end of the work, the application passed through testing phase, where the author manually tested its predefined functional properties. In connection with the testing phase, the application was deployed on a production environment, which helped with second, but this time quantitative, survey. This survey further elaborated the purposes of the developed application. Based on the questions asked, 76% of respondents has shared their thought of achieving the main goal for this application. (i.e., evaluation of respondents 4 and more) The result of this thesis is a fully functional application that meets the conditions specified in the assignment. Manual tests passed with a success rate of 86%, while the remaining 14% do not have a significant effect on application functionality. The presented development process and the knowledge contained in this work should provide readers with an idea of common and above-standard processes related to the development of web SPAs. |
