| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se zabývá vztahem mezi mírou rozvodovosti a hospodářským cyklem. Práce navazuje na teorii Garyho Beckera (1977) o příčinách rozvodů a teorii Amato a Beattie (2011) vysvětlující vztah mezi mírou rozvodovosti a hospodářským cyklem. Hypotéza této práce je, že vztah mezi mírou rozvodovosti a mírou nezaměstnanosti, coby proxy proměnné pro měření hospodářských cyklů, je negativní. Výzkum je proveden na panelových datech zemí Evropské unie od roku 2000 do roku 2020. S využitím metody prvních diferencí práce dokládá, že míra rozvodovosti se chová procyklicky. Růst míry nezaměstnanosti o 1 procentní bod snižuje míru rozvodovosti o 0,027 procentního bodu, což je v souladu s předchozími výsledky i teoriemi. Hypotéza práce je tedy potvrzena. |

| Abstract: | Diploma thesis analyses the relationship between the divorce rate and the business cycle. The thesis follows up on the theory of Gary Beckery (1977) on the causes of divorce and the theory of Amato and Beattie (2011) explaining the relationship between divorce rate and business cycle. The hypothesis of this thesis is that the relationship between the divorce rate and the unemployment rate, as a proxy variable for measuring business cycles, is negative. The research is perfomed on panel data for the countries of the European Union from 2000 to 2020. Using the method of the first differences, the thesis proves that the divorce rate behaves pro-cyclically. Increase in unemployment rate by 1 percentage point decreases divorce rate by 0.027 percentage point, which is in line with previous results and theories. The hypothesis of the thesis is confirmed. |
