| Abstract: | Tato práce zkoumá vliv počasí na majetkovou a násilnou trestnou činnost. Hlavním cílem této práce je ověřit tento vztah s využitím panelových dat v České republice v letech 2010–2020. Práce si dává za cíl ověřit hypotézu, že vyšší teplota přispívá k vyššímu nárůstu majetkové a násilné trestné činnosti. Práce je inspirována Beckerovým modelem kriminality (Becker, 1968) a studiemi zkoumajícími vztah mezi počasím a kriminální činností (Cohn & Rotton, 2000a,b). Do modelu jsou zahrnuty proměnné, jako je teplota vzduchu, srážkový úhrn, počet policistů, míra nezaměstnanosti, míra objasněných trestných činů a míra uvěznění. Na základě vytvořeného modelu lze potvrdit hypotézu, že teplota vzduchu může být považována za determinantu majetkové a násilné kriminality. Práce však neprokázala významnost u proměnné srážkový úhrn. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis examines the impact of weather on property and violent crime. It aims to verify the relationship between weather and crime with the use of panel data in the Czech Republic from 2010 to 2020. This research aims to test the hypothesis, that higher temperature leads to higher property and violent crime rates. The thesis is inspired by Becker‘s model of crime (Becker, 1968) and by studies, which examine the relationship between weather and crime (Cohn & Rotton, 2000a, b). The model includes variables such as temperature, precipitation, number of policemen, unemployment rate, probability of being caught, and imprisonment rate. Thanks to this research it is possible to confirm a fundamental hypothesis, that temperature can determine property and violent crime rate. Unfortunately, the thesis does not prove the significance of precipitation on crime. |
