Abstract: | The aim of this Master’s Thesis is to analyze the use of virtual reality in human resource management. The goals of this paper are to find out the perception of companies of the virtual reality before the COVID-19 pandemic, how much companies considered its implementation in the onboarding processes, how far companies actually went with the execution, and what were the expectations and obstacles during the whole process. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a comprehensive literature review of the employee life cycle with a focus on the onboarding process. Attention is also paid to immersive technology overview supplemented with the elaboration on virtual reality. The practical part consists of the interpretative phenomenological analysis of the primary data, that was gained by performing qualitative research through semi-structured interviews with the industry experts, specialists, and developers. The conclusions are applicable in practice as a current overview of the industry. |
