Sustainability of the organization of major sporting events and connection to partners

This diploma thesis deals with a currently important but also popular topic, and that is sustainability and the overall reduction of the negative impact on the environment. In my work I place sustainability in the context of a sports organization. The aim of the diploma thesis is to create recommendations based on the results of good practice and representing potential partners the possibility of their particiption in the organization of major sporting events and the possibility of activation of partners to these activities. For collecting the data, I used the method of a questionnaire survey and a subsequent more detailed interview with selected persons from among the respondents. The answers from the questionnaire survey and the data from the subsequent interviews allowed me to take a closer look at the organization of important sports events of foreign federations. From the information obtained, I created individual recommendations for the economic, social and twelve environmental areas of more sustainable organization of events. I then supplemented these areas with practical knowledge. From the collected questionnaire material, I also wrote down the possibilities of activation the event's partners in environmental organizational procedures and programs. The result of the diploma thesis are written recommendations for organizers and procedures by which they can achieve an event that will focus on monitoring and improving all activities in the economic, social, environmental fields so as to affect the quality of the environment and health of participants. The steps leading to the establishment of event partners are listed. Examples of good practice based on the experience of the organizers of major sporting events are added to the individual areas of the circular event.
