| Abstract: | Tato práce se zabývá private equity a venture capital fondy působícími v České republice. V teoretické části se práce zabývá definicí pojmů, vysvětlením fungování těchto fondů, popisem strategie, risk managementu, měření výkonnosti, rolí ve společnosti a ekonomice a popisem hlavních rozdílů mezi PE a VC fondy. V praktické části se práce zabývá analýzou PE a VC fondů působících v ČR, a to zejména z hlediska velikosti fondu, požadované velikosti investice, odvětví, na které se fond zaměřuje, a geografické působnosti. Dále srovnává výkonnost PE a VC fondů s průměrnými ročními změnami indexu Burzy cenných papírů Praha. Bylo zjištěno, že PE a VC fondy dosahují vyšších výnosů než index. Tato forma investování může představovat alternativu pro investory, kteří jsou ochotni akceptovat vyšší riziko. |

| Abstract: | This thesis focuses on private equity and venture capital funds that operate in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part focuses on definitions, describing how the funds work, their strategy, risk management, measuring returns, the role these funds play in society and economy and describing main differences between PE and VC funds. The practical part focuses on analysing PE and VC funds operating in the Czech Republic, especially in the terms of fund size, required investment size, sector preference and geographical focus. Further it compares the performance of PE and VC funds with the average yearly changes in an index of the Prague Stock Exchange. It was found that PE and VC funds achieve higher returns than the index. This form of investing can be an alternative for investors who are willing to accept higher risk. |
