| Abstract: | Daná práce se zabývá problematikou finančních manipulací a možnostmi jejich odhalení. K lepšímu pochopení tématu jsou v první časti vysvětleny pojmy „kreativní účetnictví“ a „podvod“ a jsou naznačeny motivy ke zkreslení účetních výkazů. Dále je v práci vytvořen přehled o základních způsobech úprav ve výkazech a uvedené principy jsou stručně popsány. Finální část je věnována způsobům odhalení finančních manipulací při použití výhradně veřejně dostupných údajů – především dat z účetní závěrky, a dále nefinančních dat získaných z veřejných zdrojů informací. Ve stejné časti je na příkladu společnosti Enron rovněž ukázáno, jak dané postupy mohou být použity v praxi. |

| Abstract: | The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of financial manipulation and the ways to detect it. To better understand the topic, in the first part terms “creative accounting” and “fraud” are explained and motives for distortion of financial statements are indicated. Then the thesis creates an overview of the basic ways of adjustments in financial statements and the main principles are briefly described. The final part is devoted to the methods of detecting financial manipulations using exclusively publicly available data – mainly data from financial statements, as well as nonfinancial data obtained from public sources. The same part also demonstrates how these methods can be used in practice on the case of Enron corporation. |
