Financial motives for the internationalization of European large clubs

My diploma thesis deals with the issue of income structure of large clubs and their impact on the economies in their countries of origin. The primary goal of this work is to analyze the level of internationalization of European large clubs in the field of financial income. I performed the evaluation on the basis of annual reports of individual leagues and large clubs. Moreover, I have added information from independent sources that is relevant to each section. The secondary goal is to assess the impact of leagues on individual economies. Here I focus on available data on the number of jobs created, the volume of taxes paid or the share of GDP produced by the competition. I also take into account the impact of football on tourism or the local community. The result of the work is a comprehensive analysis of the income of large clubs and pointing out their specifics and trends, which are reflected in a greater focus on foreign regions in order to increase their popularity in the region and the associated generation of higher income. These data are then used to assess the impact on national economies, which has a growing trend with interesting potential.
