| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce se věnuje porušování práv vězňů, která jsou zakotvena v Mezinárodním paktu o občanských a politických právech, na příkladu Íránu. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaká konkrétní práva Írán porušuje. Nejprve se práce zabývá lidskoprávními normami a jejich specifiky v mezinárodním právu a pro větší pochopení problematiky práv vězňů definuje odborné výrazy vztahující se k tématu. Dále je v práci poskytnut rozbor mezinárodně uznávaných dokumentů a vnitrostátních právních předpisů. V empirické části jsou analyzovány jednotlivé případy, které vykazují znaky porušování práv vězňů. Na základě komparace článků s vybranými případy, které poskytly vládní a nevládní organizace, práce konstatuje, že Írán vězňům odpírá značné množství práv, které z těchto článků vyplývají. Mezi právy, které se nedostávají íránskému obyvatelstvu, je zejména právo na svobodu a osobní bezpečnost, právo na spravedlivé trestní řízení a právo na veřejné slyšení. Írán rovněž nerespektuje zákaz svévolného zadržení a zatčení a také zákaz mučení a jiného krutého, nelidského nebo ponižujícího zacházení a trestu. |

| Abstract: | The bachelor thesis focuses on the violation of prisoners' rights, which are enshrined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, using Iran as an example. The aim of the thesis is to find out what specific rights the Iranian authorities are violating. The thesis discusses human rights norms and their specifics in international law and defines terms related to the issue of prisoners' rights to enhance understanding of the issue. The thesis provides an analysis of internationally recognized documents and national legislation. In the empirical part, individual cases that show signs of prisoners' rights violations are analyzed. By comparing the articles with selected cases provided by governmental and non-governmental organizations, the thesis concludes that Iran denies prisoners a significant number of rights under the articles. In particular, the rights denied to the Iranian population include the right to liberty and security, the right to a fair trial, and the right to a public hearing. Iran also fails to respect the prohibition of arbitrary detention and arrest, as well as the prohibition of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. |
