| Abstract: | The main goal of the diploma thesis is to identify and assess commercial opportunities for a company within the energy trading industry with the possible integration of blockchain technology. The thesis is structured into three chapters. First chapter brings to the readers an economic perspective of electricity markets, electricity trading and identifies the trends driving the energy industry. The second chapter introduces the blockchain technology in relevance to the energy industry, electricity trading and provides an overview and assessment of existing blockchain projects. The last chapter builds on theoretical and practical knowledge presented in the previous two chapters and suggests commercial opportunities for a company in energy industry with a possible implementation of blockchain technology. |

| Abstract: | Cílem této práce je identifikovat a zhodnotit obchodní příležitosti pro společnost pohybující se v odvětví obchodování s elektřinou s možnou integrací technologie blockchainu. Práce je strukturována do tří kapitol. První kapitola přináší čtenářům ekonomický pohled na trhy s elektřinou, obchodování s elektřinou a identifikuje trendy, které ovlivňují energetický průmysl. Druhá kapitola představuje blockchainovou technologii vztahující se k aplikacím v energetickém průmyslu a k obchodování s elektřinou, poskytuje přehled a zhodnocuje existující blockchainové projekty. Poslední kapitola navazuje na teoretické a praktické poznatky uvedené v přechozích dvou kapitolách a navrhuje obchodní příležitosti pro společnost pohybující se v energetickém průmyslu s možnou implementací technologie blockchainu. |
