| Abstract: | Na přelomu roku 2019 a 2020 začala do dnes trvající světová pandemická krize COVIDu-19, jež představuje jednu z největších výzev pro společnost v novodobé historii. Během krize došlo k úpadku do recese v podstatě u všech významných světových ekonomik a podle OECD jde o největší globální recesy od konce druhé světové války. Všechny firmy a sektory byly přímo nebo nepřímo zasažené důsledky pandemie, ale zejména malé a střední podniky, označované také zkratkou SMEs z anglického pojmu “small and medium-sized enterprises”, zažily tvrdý pád. Práce se nejdříve zabývá vývojem pandemie a jejími ekonomickými specifiky v porovnání s ostatními ekonomickými krizemi. Dále pracuje s vývojem makroekonomických veličin a představuje současný stav podnikatelského sektoru v USA. Hlavní zaměření poté přechází na SMEs: vymezení, význam, problémy, trendy a vyhlídky. Hlavní cíl práce je zjistit skutečné dopady pandemie COVIDu-19 na malé a střední podniky v USA. |

| Abstract: | At the turn of 2019 and 2020, the global pandemic crisis of COVID-19 has begun and still represents a threat in the year 2022. The crisis belongs to one of the greatest challenges for society in the modern history. According to the OECD it is the largest global recession since the end of World War II. All companies and sectors were directly or indirectly affected by the consequences of the pandemic but especially small and medium-sized enterprises, also referred to as SMEs experienced a severe decline. The work first deals with the development of the pandemic and its economic specifics in comparison with other economic crises. It also works with the development of macroeconomic variables and presents the current state of the business sector in the United States. The main focus then shifts to SMEs: definition, importance, problems, trends and prospects of the SMEs. The main goal of this work is to determine the real impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on small and medium-sized enterprises in the USA. |
