| Abstract: | The National Statistics website of any country is an important tool to communicate the societal changes, findings, and developments in a nation to its people and the world at large. The Czech Statistical website czso.cz is such a website that hasn’t quite kept up with the times in terms of usability and design. By analyzing the most advanced National Statistical websites from across the world, we found certain key design principles that form the basis for a good national statistical platform. A user-first approach, hiding complexity and maximizing efficiency as well as suitable visualization tools were found to be important in improving the usability and standard of the Czech Statistical Website, and supplementing the platform further with communitive visualizations will further strengthen the message. |

| Abstract: | Webové stránky národních statistik kterékoli země jsou důležitým nástrojem pro informování o společenských změnách, zjištěních a vývoji v dané zemi jejím lidem a celému světu. Český statistický web czso.cz je takový web, který co do použitelnosti a designu tak úplně nešel s dobou. Analýzou nejpokročilejších národních statistických webů z celého světa jsme našli určité klíčové principy návrhu, které tvoří základ dobré národní statistické platformy. Přístup na prvním místě uživatele, skrytí složitosti a maximalizace efektivity a také vhodné vizualizační nástroje se ukázaly jako důležité pro zlepšení použitelnosti a standardu českého statistického webu a další doplnění platformy o komunitní vizualizace dále posílí sdělení. |
