| Abstract: | Práce se zabývá problematikou přijetí eura jako jednotné měny v ekonomických podmínkách České republiky. V první kapitole je nastíněna historie a vývoj měnových systémů předcházejících Evropské měnové unii se zaměřením na západní Evropu. Druhá kapitola charakterizuje Hospodářskou a měnovou unii a popisuje jednotlivé fáze jejího vzniku. Ve třetí kapitole je analyzováno, které z 5 maastrichtských kritérií Česká republika plní. Čtvrtá kapitola se věnuje míře konvergence České republiky s eurozónou v jednotlivých oblastech ekonomiky. Je zde zahrnuta i oblast technická, legislativní a institucionální. Závěrečná část analyzuje celý proces zavedení eura zahrnující scénář, zásady a harmonogram postupných kroků. Jsou zde diskutovány výhody a nevýhody plynoucí z tohoto procesu a je vyhodnocena aktuální ekonomicko-politická situace v Evropě a České republice vzhledem k euru. |

| Abstract: | The present work deals with problems of the euro acceptance as a single currency in the economic conditions of the Czech Republic. In the first chapter the history and development of currency systems anticipating the European Monetary Union is outlined with the focus on Western Europe. The second chapter characterises the European Economic and Monetary Union and describes the particular phases of its origin. In the third chapter it is analysed which of the 5 Maastricht criteria the Czech Republic fulfils. The fourth chapter evaluates the level of convergence between the Czech Republic and the Eurozone in the economic areas. This includes also technical, legislative and institutional aspects. The final part analyses the entire process of the euro implementation including scenario, principles and schedule of the successive steps. The advantages and disadvantages of this process are discussed and the present economic and political situation in Europe and the Czech Republic concerning the euro is evaluated. |
