Abstract:

Abstract:
In this bachelor thesis, I would like to focus on the topic of e-commerce and its use in practice. In recent years we can observe a trend of e-commerce growth and growth of doing business via the Internet in general. This process was accelerated mainly because of the global developments in the last 2 years. Due to the pandemic which has affected the entire world, people have often had no choice but to adapt and change their shopping habits from shopping in brick-and-mortar stores to the internet. For this reason, e-commerce is becoming rapidly the most popular form of shopping nowadays. Firstly I would like to briefly discuss the general definition of the topic of e-commerce, as well as specific business models, and also to develop the information in regard to the protection of the digital markets. Then the practical part would be based on a comparison of approaches and different business models of three selected online marketplaces: Alza/Amazon/Aliexpress. Further, I would like to evaluate their business strategies, payment, logistics and overall capabilities, along with suggesting improvements to the competitiveness and market position of Czech company Alza.cz.
