| Abstract: | Pandemie covidu-19 měla zásadní dopad na jednotlivce, společnosti a ekonomiky po celém světě a samozřejmě i na pojišťovnictví. Pojišťovny musí čelit mnoha výzvám, ale naskytují se zde i příležitosti v krátkodobém i dlouhodobém horizontu. I přes vysokou regulaci v tomto odvětví je kompletní modernizace a inovace z budoucího hlediska žádoucí a nevyhnutelná. Cílem diplomové práce je shrnout a objasnit, jak pandemické podmínky ovlivnily pojistný a zejména insurtech trh s výrazným zaměřením na americký sektor. Pozornost bude věnována subjektům, které mohou v nadcházejících obdobích ohrozit pojišťovny. Úvodní část pokrývá reakce pojišťoven u specifických pojištění, po kterém jsou představena pandemická ovlivnění napříč insurtech sektorem dle zvolených parametrů, včetně potenciálního vlivu big tech společností na pojišťovací sektor. Tato práce umožní čtenáři porozumět, jakým způsobem pandemie covidu-19 ovlivnila pojišťovnictví s důrazem na disruptory v budoucím měřítku. |

| Abstract: | The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on individuals, society, entire economy worldwide including the insurance industry. Insurance companies must face many challenges, but there are also many opportunities being created in the short, and in the long term. Despite the high level of regulation in this industry, complete modernization and innovation is desirable and inevitable moving forward. The aim of the diploma thesis is to summarize and clarify how pandemic conditions affected the insurance market, particularly Insurtech, in the US region. Attention will focus on entities who may pose a threat to insurance companies in the nearest future. The introduction part covers the reaction of insurance companies on specific insurance policies and offerings, followed by the pandemic impact across Insurtech industry according to the selected parameters, including the potential influence of Big Tech companies on the insurance sector. This thesis will provide readers with a better understanding of how COVID-19 impacted the insurance market, and the innovative companies looking to disrupt the sector and define its future. |
