Support for Prague tourism in response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tematikou cestovního ruchu v reakci na aktuální téma celosvětové pandemie virového onemocnění COVID-19. Předmětem zkoumání se stala podpora turismu v Praze v době pandemie, jako jedné z nejvíce zasažených turistických destinací. Cílem práce je analyzovat podporu cestovního ruchu ze strany místní samosprávy, v hlavním městě České republiky, z pohledu klíčových destinačních stakeholders. Dále navrhnout manažersky-marketingová opatření ke zlepšení úrovně této podpory. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na cestovní ruch, jeho význam, vývoj a novodobé trendy. Další kapitoly se věnují destinaci, destinačnímu řízení a vlivu pandemie COVID-19 na cestovní ruch ve světě a v České republice. Součástí praktické části je analýza podpory ze strany hlavního města a doporučení na její zlepšení. Zdrojem dat se staly polostrukturované rozhovory s jednotlivými představiteli ubytovacích zařízení působících na území Prahy.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of tourism in response to the global pandemic of the viral disease COVID-19. The subject of the investigation was the support of tourism in Prague during the pandemic, as one of the most affected tourist destinations. The aim of the work is to analyze the support of tourism by the local government, in the capital of the Czech Republic, from the point of view of key destination stakeholders. Furthermore, propose management-marketing recommendations to improve the level of this support. The theoretical part of the work is focused on tourism, its importance, development, and modern trends. Other chapters are devoted to the destination, destination management, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism in the world and the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis includes the analysis of support from the local government and gives recommendations for its improvement. The source of data was semi-structured interviews with individual representatives of accommodation facilities operating in the tourist destination of Prague.
