| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou využití umělé inteligence v Indii a rolí státu v podpoře AI sektoru. Hlavním cílem je zhodnotit, do jaké míry je v Indii vhodné prostředí pro rozvoj technologií Umělé inteligence a do jaké míry toto prostředí indická vláda podporuje. Práce se dále zaměřuje na finanční sektor, kde hodnotí potenciál využití AI ve finančním sektoru Indie. V tomto kontextu je vymezen pojem umělá inteligence a je definováno tzv. optimální prostředí pro rozvoj AI technologií v zemi, skládající se z dostupnosti a kvality dat, výpočetního výkonu a síťového sdílení informací, lidského kapitálu a role státu. S tímto rámcem je následně analyzováno, do jaké míry má Indie vhodné prostředí pro rozvoj AI technologií a jakým způsobem toto prostředí indická vláda podporuje. Bylo zjištěno, že ačkoli se Indie v každé dílčí oblasti zlepšuje, stále výrazně zaostává. Vláda rovněž dostatečně nepodporuje zlepšení v daných oblastech v rámci své národní strategie. Co se týká finančního sektoru, bylo zjištěno, že pomocí AI technologií a přístupu k alternativním datům je možné zvýšit finanční začlenění v rozvojových státech a v tím v důsledku i zlepšit některé makroekonomické ukazatele země. Bylo doporučeno zahrnout finanční sektor do budoucích verzí indické národní AI strategie. |

| Abstract: | This thesis examines the use of artificial intelligence in India and the role of the government in supporting the AI sector. The main objective is to assess the extent to which there is an enabling environment for the development of Artificial Intelligence technologies in India and the extent to which the Indian government is supporting this environment. The thesis also focuses on the financial sector to assess the potential of using AI in the financial sector of India. In this context, the concept of AI is defined and the so-called optimal environment for the development of AI technologies in the country is defined, consisting of data availability and quality, computing power and information sharing, human capital and the role of the government. With this framework, it is then analysed to what extent India has a suitable environment for the development of AI technologies and how the Indian government is supporting this environment. It is found that although India is improving in each sub-area, it still lags far behind. The government is also not sufficiently supporting improvements in these areas as part of its national strategy. With respect to the financial sector, it was found that using AI technologies and access to alternative data can increase financial inclusion in developing countries and, as a result, improve some of the country's macroeconomic indicators. It was recommended to include the financial sector in future versions of India's national AI strategy. |
