Analysis of mobile applications' user interface

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the contemporary and modern interface of applications. First, the relevance of mobile applications is explained. The arguments for the relevance of applications are based on the increasing popularity of mobile devices, and are also supported by statistics. Furthemore, the meaning and significance of the term UI design is elaborated, and the process of creating an user interface is described with emphasis on setting the right priorities. Subsequently, a research is conducted on the latest trends in UI and UX design related to applications. The next chapter describes the categorization of applications according to the Play Store, the process of choosing categories and their representatives for analysis. Finally, an analysis of user interfaces of several popular representatives of different categories is carried out, taking into account new design trends and priorities in designing. Typical features of these categories are compared, and common features in graphical interfaces are described in detail. The main purpose of the bachelor's thesis is to familiarize oneself with the recurring elements of UI, their usage, and placement in a familiar form for users of different application categories. The secondary objectives are to learn about the process of creating UI design and setting priorities when designing UI. The result of this work is a description of common characteristics of recurring graphical elements across different categories, which are easily comprehensible for users due to their frequent usage. Such elements are subsequently suitable for use in designing one's own application.
