| Abstract: | Emission trading is one of the instrument of the environmental policy in the field of greenhouse effect. The main goal of the diploma thesis is to compare 3 large emission trading schemes of USA and Canada – RGGI, ETS of California and ETS of Quebec in financial, environmental, and social problematics. Theoretical part of the thesis will be devoted to such concepts as greenhouse effect, environmental policy and its instruments, environmental programs of Canada and USA, and their large projects in the field of emission trading. The practical part deals with the study, where attention will be paid to jurisdiction characteristics, financial area as well as environmental and social aspects of the considered ETSs. Based on the main results of the study, SWOT analysis will be conducted. |

| Abstract: | Obchodování s emisemi je jedním z nástrojů environmentální politiky v oblasti skleníkového efektu. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je porovnat 3 schémata obchodování s emisemi USA a Kanady – RGGI, Kalifornii a Quebecu ve finanční, environmentální a sociální oblastech. Teoretická část práce bude věnována pojmům jako skleníkový efekt, environmentální politika a její nástroje, environmentální programy Kanady a USA a jejich velké projekty v oblasti obchodování s emisemi. Praktická část se zabývá studií, kde bude věnována pozornost charakteristikám jurisdikce, finanční oblasti a také environmentálním a sociálním aspektům uvažovaných ETS. Na základě hlavních výsledků studie bude provedena SWOT analýza. |
