Consumer protection in tourism

The diploma thesis aimed to compare consumer protection in organized and individually organized tourism and to answer the question, why is consumer protection higher at the level of organized tourism? The methods used in the thesis were mainly literature review and comparison. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the basic terms related to tourism and consumer protection are defined. Organized and individually organized tourism is characterized in more detail. The thesis also characterizes what package travel is. In the thesis, consumer protection is divided according to legislation into the legislation of the European Union and the legislation of the Czech Republic. In the practical part of the thesis, consumer protection is analyzed in selected types of tourism. At the end of the thesis, a comparison of the level of consumer protection in organized and individually organized tourism is made. The diploma thesis shows that consumer protection is higher in organized tourism and the conclusion contains an answer to the question of why it is so.

Cílem diplomové práce bylo porovnání ochrany spotřebitele v organizovaném a individuálně organizovaném cestovním ruchu a odpovědět na otázku, proč je ochrana spotřebitele vyšší na úrovni organizovaného turismu? V práci byly použity metody hlavně rešerše literatury a komparace. V teoretické části práce jsou definovány základní pojmy, které souvisejí s cestovním ruchem a ochranou spotřebitele. Blíže je charakterizován organizovaný a individuálně organizovaný cestovní ruch. Ochrana spotřebitele je rozdělena na legislativu Evropské unie a České republiky. V praktické části práce je zkoumána ochrana spotřebitele ve vybraných druzích cestovního ruchu. V závěru práce je vyhotovena komparace úrovně ochrany spotřebitele v organizovaném a individuálně organizovaném cestovním ruchu. Z práce vyplývá, že ochrana spotřebitele je vyšší v organizovaném cestovním ruchu a závěr obsahuje odpověď na otázku proč je tomu tak.
