| Abstract: | Práce se zabývá tématem relevance papežské diplomacie v současném světě. Je zkoumáno, zda diplomatický aparát Svatého Stolce plní stanovené cíle a s jakým úspěchem jich dosahuje. Součástí práce je průběžné hodnocení Františkova pontifikátu. Práce vysvětluje unikátnost tohoto hybridního aktéra mezinárodních vztahů a důsledků, které z této skutečnosti plynou. Speciální pozornost je věnována pozici papeže jako mediátora a inovacím, které papež František zavádí. |

| Abstract: | The thesis deals with the relevance of papal diplomacy in the contemporary world. It examines whether the diplomatic apparatus of the Holy See is fulfilling its stated goals and with what success it is achieving them. The work includes an ongoing assessment of Francis' pontificate. The thesis explains the uniqueness of this hybrid actor in international relations and the implications that emerge from this fact. Special attention is paid to the Pope's position as a mediator as well as to the innovations that Pope Francis has introduced. |
