The impact of the opening of Rychmburk Castle as a cultural monument on the village of Předhradí

| Abstract: | Tato práce zkoumá hrad Rychmburk, který do roku 2021 sloužil jako domov pro osoby s duševním onemocněním. Ve stejném roce si hrad vzalo pod správu Regionální muzeum v Chrudimi a ještě v tomtéž roce jej zprovoznilo jako kulturní památku. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo identifikovat dopady otevření hradu Rychmburk veřejnosti na obec Předhradí, ve které se hrad nachází. V případě nalezení negativních dopadů bylo dalším cílem navrhnout taková opatření, která tyto negativní vlivy minimalizují a přispějí tak k udržitelnému rozvoji místního cestovního ruchu. Informace potřebné ke splnění těchto cílů byly získány na základě hloubkových rozhovorů se starostou obce, kastelánem hradu, ředitelkou regionálního muzea v Chrudimi a s majitelem gastronomického zařízení, které si v souvislosti s otevřením hradu veřejnosti založil. V rámci sběru dat byl nadále vytvořen dotazník pro obyvatele obce starší osmnácti let, kterého se zúčastnila téměř pětina obyvatel obce této věkové kategorie. Ze získaných informací vyplývá, že otevření hradu jako kulturní památky mělo pozitivní i negativní dopady na všechny zkoumané stránky, tedy na ekonomiku obce, obyvatele i životní prostředí. V závěru práce jsou shrnuta doporučená řešení negativních dopadů a náměty pro udržitelný rozvoj cestovního ruchu. |

| Abstract: | This thesis focuses on Rychmburk Castle, which was used as a home for people with mental illness until 2021. Then the Regional Museum in Chrudim took the castle under its management, and in the same year, it was opened as a cultural monument. The main aim of this thesis was to identify the impact of the opening of Rychmburk Castle to the public on the village of Předhradí, where the castle is located. If negative effects were found, another goal was to propose steps that would minimize these impacts and thus contribute to the sustainable development of local tourism. The information needed to meet these objectives was obtained through in-depth interviews with the village's mayor, the castle warden, the director of the regional museum in Chrudim, and the owner of the gastronomic facility he established in connection with the opening of the castle to the public. As part of the data collection, a questionnaire for residents over eighteen was distributed, and almost a fifth of the village residents over eighteen participated in this research. The results show that the opening of the castle as a cultural monument had both positive and negative impacts on all the aspects studied, i.e., the economy of the village, the residents, and the environment. The paper concludes with a summary of recommended solutions to the negative impacts and suggestions for sustainable tourism development. |
