Optimization of the financial processes of the Czech Union for Nature Conservation

One of the big topics that most companies are currently dealing with is the optimization of business processes using information technology. The higher the company's profit, the wider the choice of technologies that can be used and the easier optimization is for the company. This masters’ thesis deals with the other end of the spectrum, that is, an organization that has to invest most of the obtained funds into fulfilling its mission and therefore the organization does not have much room for investment in development. Specifically, the thesis concerns the non-profit organization Czech Union for Nature Conservation, whose mission is to protect nature, the landscape and the environment. The first part of the master’s thesis introduces the area to be optimized. The area is divided into processes that are described using process diagram models according to the MMABP methodology. Architectural models are made in accordance with the ADM cycle of the TOGAF methodology. Based on the models, optimization requirements are defined in cooperation with the Czech Union for Nature Conservation. Subsequently, specific process and application changes are proposed, and the optimized models are created. The last chapter describes the presentation of the optimization to a representative of the Union and her feedback.
