Design of ICT support for gamification of creative collaboration of teachers and students

The thesis deals with the design of a gamification ICT solution to support collaboration between teachers and students of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics. This main objective responds to the current problem of the lack of student-faculty interaction and their low interest in engaging with events outside of their academic duties. In addition, a sub-objective of the thesis is to answer the research question "What practices can promote student and faculty belonging in the Faculty of Computer Science and Statistics through collaborative creative projects?" Design thinking, focus group and questionnaire survey methods are used to describe the current status and needs of interest groups and applied to groups of students and faculty members working in the Faculty of Computer Science and Statistics. The subsequent solution is designed using a human centered design approach and standardized methods for designing ICT solutions, namely process modelling using BPMN notation, user functionalities using UML diagrams and data flows using Data Flow diagrams. The Kanban methodology is used for the project management part of the solution. Validation of the proposed solution is carried out through in-depth interviews with experts in the areas concerned and through questionnaire surveys conducted among students and teachers of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics. Based on the validation performed, it can be concluded that the proposed solution has the potential to be positively accepted by all interest groups.
