Sharing economy in selected sectors

The thesis focuses on the study of the sharing economy in certain fields from different points of view. This work explains the concept of the sharing economy and describes the principles of its functioning. The purpose of this thesis is to give an overall picture of the application of the sharing economy’s principles in fields that were formed before the emergence of the phenomenon “sharing economy”. As part of the work, we have been hypothesized about the impact of sharing economy on business and society - in particular, the impact of using the principles of sharing economy on the financial condition of a company, the impact on the social life of users of sharing economy services and the impact on the competitive environment. The results of the economic comparison show that the use of the sharing economy model does not make a company more stable and financially sustainable than a direct competitor of a comparable size from the same field of economy operating as a classic company. According to the obtained results, we discovered that the sharing economy has a significant positive social impact on its users. Based on the results of the study of competition between companies both with and without sharing economy model, we discovered certain advantages and disadvantages of sharing economy companies in comparison with classic companies.
