Entrepreneurial orientation of employees in a self-managing company

Self-management is one of the ways of setting up a company's organizational model, which aims to improve the quality of employees' working life, increase work efficiency and ensure the entire company's ability to respond dynamically to changes in a rapidly changing society. Although the self-managing organizational model is a frequently discussed and popular topic, it is not sufficiently studied empirically. This bachelor thesis aims to investigate what type of employees thrive in self-managing companies, specifically to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation, self-control and employee satisfaction in self-managing company. Employee satisfaction in this relationship is a controlling factor that assesses which employees are thriving in a self-managing companies. In order to achieve this objective, the practical part of the study conducted quantitative research using standardized questionnaires examining employees' individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO), self-control (BSCS) and satisfaction (MSQ). This research was conducted at Applifting Ltd, a software firm that applies the principles of self-management as one of the principles of turquoise organizations, which the firm is. The research could not show a statistically significant relationship between entrepreneurial orientation, self-management and employee satisfaction. However, the research identified higher entrepreneurial orientation among team leaders, who play an important role in the context of self-managing companies.
