| Abstract: | This thesis is focused on Asda, a grocery retailer from the UK, in order to find out its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as well as to figure out the best recommendations for the company’s top management. Firstly, in order to achieve this aim, research on the analysis of external and internal environment of market is done and summarized in the theoretical part. Then, in practical part, the tools described in theoretical section are utilized in order to assess Asda’s position in the market. The tools include stakeholder analysis, PEST, Porter’s five forces, competitive life cycle, VRIO, benchmarking, SWOT analysis and more. |

| Abstract: | Tato práce je zaměřena na Asdu, maloobchodníka s potravinami z Velké Británie, s cílem zjistit jeho silné a slabé stránky, příležitosti a hrozby a také vymyslet nejlepší doporučení pro top management společnosti. Nejprve je pro dosažení tohoto cíle proveden výzkum analýzy vnějšího a vnitřního prostředí trhu, který je shrnut v teoretické části. Poté jsou v praktické části využity nástroje popsané v teoretické části k posouzení pozice Asda na trhu. Nástroje zahrnují analýzu stakeholderů, PEST, Porterových pět sil, konkurenční životní cyklus, VRIO, benchmarking, SWOT analýzu a další. |
