Early disillusionment in the transition from student to working life

The thesis deals with the topic of disillusionment during the transition between university and working life among graduates of the Faculty of Law of Charles University. The work's main goal is to analyse the respondents' experiences with the transition from studies to work. The theoretical part presents in more detail the basic concepts of inner mission, the meaningfulness of work and the phenomenon called Bullshit Jobs. Finally, in the theoretical part, the transition from student to working life is commented on according to the available literature and current findings. The practical part is based on qualitative research with the aim of getting a closer look at the respondents' lived experience with the given topic. Using semi-structured in-depth interviews, with subsequent analysis and interpretation using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis method, the respondent's relationship to the perception of the given field is investigated, using motivation, inner mission, the meaningfulness of work or perceived disillusionment. The results of the research point to the unsuccessful transition of the given respondents between student and working life, mainly depending on the lack of feeling of inner mission towards the field, significant experienced disillusionment, and the inactivity of the educational institution in the context of helping graduates with a smooth transition already during their studies.
