| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na vysvětlení, proč se některým ekonomikám „nedaří“. Cílem práce je vysvětlit příčiny nízkého ekonomického růstu řecké ekonomiky a komparovat Řecko s EU. Práce obsahuje teoretickou část, která představuje determinanty ekonomického růstu – výrobní faktory práce, kapitálu, jejich produktivitu, dále například instituce, geografii nebo kulturu. V praktické části je užita komparativní analýza řecké ekonomiky a EU, ze které vyplývají hlavní problémy Řecka. Jeho ekonomické potíže byly způsobeny především nekvalitním nastavením institucí, což se projevilo politickou nestabilitou a korupcí. |

| Abstract: | The diploma thesis focuses on explaining why some economies “fail”. The aim of the work is to explain the causes of the low economic growth of the Greek economy and to compare Greece with the EU. The thesis contains a theoretical part that represents the determinants of economic growth – the production factors of labor, capital, their productivity, as well as, for example, institutions, geography or culture. In the practical part, a comparative analysis of the Greek economy and the EU is used, which shows the main problems of Greece. Its economic difficulties were mainly caused by the poor quality of the institutions, which resulted in political instability and corruption. |
