| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá rozborem role ekonomických sankcí jakožto nástrojem zahraniční politiky. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. V první teoretické sekci je věnován prostor základním definicím, druhům sankcí a způsobům jejich implementace. Je zde nastíněna konstrukce sankcí, úvod do sankční historie a různé způsoby měření jejich úspěšnosti. Praktická část obsahuje analýzu vlivu sankcí na základní ekonomické indikátory: HDP, index lidského rozvoje a inflaci. Pozorovaný vzorek se skládá z 10 zemí sankcionovaných OSN a Ruska. Dále jsou v práci detailněji popsány sankční systémy uvalené na Irák a Rusko. Prezentované výsledky z první části svědčí o značné nejasnosti ohledně hodnocení efektivity a výkladu užití ekonomických sankcí celkově. Praktická část potvrzuje výraznější vliv na ekonomické indikátory pouze v případě středně těžkých až těžkých sankcí. Zároveň potvrzuje šetrnost cílenějších sankcí vůči civilnímu obyvatelstvu. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis analyses the role of economic sanctions as a foreign policy tool. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first theoretical section is devoted to basic definitions, types of sanctions and ways of their implementation. The construction of sanctions is outlined, an introduction to sanctions history is given, and various ways of measuring success are presented. The practical section contains an analysis of the impact of sanctions on basic economic indicators. The observed sample consists of 10 UN-sanctioned countries and Russia. Furthermore, the thesis describes in detail the sanction systems imposed on Iraq and Russia. The results obtained in the first part indicate considerable uncertainty regarding the assessment of the effectiveness and interpretation of the use of economic sanctions in general. The practical part confirms a significant impact on economic indicators only in the case of sanctions in the moderate to severe category. At the same time, modern forms of sanctions significantly reduce the impact on the civilian population. |
