| Abstract: | Předkládaná diplomová práce se snaží uceleně zachytit postup České a Slovenské republiky při obhajobě národních zájmů před Soudním dvorem Evropské unie, a to především skrze institut vedlejšího účastenství v řízeních o předběžné otázce a v řízeních o porušení Smlouvy. V této práci je nejprve vymezena funkce vládního zmocněnce, včetně jeho charakteristik a způsobu, jakým zastupuje Českou případně Slovenskou republiku před orgány EU. Dále je zde uvedena kapitola, která se věnuje pojmu „národní zájem“ a jeho vymezení. Poté jsou představena obě zkoumaná řízení před SDEU. A na závěr se práce zabývá konkrétními vybranými řízeními před SDEU a porovnává v nich aktivitu, stanoviska a oblasti zájmů obou zemí. |

| Abstract: | This diploma thesis deals with the matter of a comprehensive procedure of the Czech and Slovak Republic during the defense of national interests in proceedings before the Court of Justice of the EU. They do so mainly through the intervention in the preliminary ruling and Infringement processing. Firstly, the thesis sets up the character and functions of a Government Agent for the representation of the Czech and Slovak Republic before the CJEU. Then there is a chapter dedicated to the term "national interest" and its definition. Also, both examined proceedings before the CJEU are then presented. And finally, the work deals with specifically selected proceedings before the CJEU and compares the activity, opinions, and areas of interest of both countries in the proceedings before the CJEU. |
