| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá roli statistiky jako nástroje dezinformací a manipulace v politice. V politické sféře není statistika vždy dobrým nástrojem, který může pomoct objektivně interpretovat různé ukazatele, předpovídat a nacházet korelace mezi různými jevy apod. Ve schopných a zištných rukou se statistika stává účinným nástrojem manipulace s informacemi, zkreslování objektivního obrazu situace a ovlivňování názorů. V této práci se nejprve budeme zabývat statistickými ukazateli, které se v politické praxi nejčastěji používají a jakým způsobem mohou být tyto ukazatele zkresleny nebo nesprávně interpretovány. Za druhé se budeme zabývat grafickými metodami používanými v politice k vizualizaci různých ukazatelů a typickými způsoby zkreslování na reálných příkladech. Za třetí se budeme zabývat statistikou jako nástrojem kontroly politických institucí na reálném příkladu výsledků voleb. K výzkumu budou použity různé zdroje a ukázky skutečných případů politické dezinformace s využitím statistiky. Pro analýzu a ilustraci budeme používat aplikace Microsoft Excel a Rstudio. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis explores the role of statistics as a tool of disinformation and manipulation in politics. In the political sphere, statistics is not always a good tool that can help to objectively interpret different indicators, make predictions, and find correlations between different variables, etc. In capable and biased hands, statistics become an effective tool for manipulating information, distorting the objective picture of the situation, and influencing opinions. In this paper, we will first discuss the statistical indicators most commonly used in political practice and how these indicators can be manipulated or incorrectly interpreted. Secondly, we will discuss graphical methods used in politics to visualize different indicators and typical ways of misrepresentation using real-life examples. And finally, we will look at statistics as a tool for controlling political institutions using the real example of election results. Various sources and examples of real cases of political misinformation using statistics will be used for the research. We will use Microsoft Excel and Rstudio for analysis and illustration. |
