| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku pasti středního příjmu. První kapitola poskytuje dostupné definice tohoto pojmu, shrnutí faktorů, které dle dostupné literatury způsobují pád země do této pasti a následně získané informace aplikuje na případ Thajska. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na koncept přímých zahraničních investic, faktorů, které ovlivňují jejich pohyb a faktorů, které omezují schopnost země tyto investice využít k dosažení udržitelného hospodářského růstu. Součástí této kapitoly je rovněž analýza trendů toků přímých zahraničních investic do Thajska. Poslední kapitola této práce spojuje koncepty předchozích dvou kapitol a zjišťuje, které kroky jsou nutné k tomu, aby mohly přímé zahraniční investice Thajsku pomoci k úniku z pasti středního příjmu. Součástí třetí kapitoly je rovněž shrnutí rozhovorů, které byly prováděny s experty na Thajskou ekonomiku v rámci doplňkového šetření. Cílem této práce je definovat pojem past středního příjmu a zjistit, které faktory brání Thajsku v úniku z této pasti. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of the middle-income trap. The first chapter provides the available definitions of this concept, summarizes the factors that, according to the available literature, cause a country to fall into this trap and then applies the information to the case of Thailand. The second chapter focuses on the concept of foreign direct investment, the factors that influence its movement and the factors that limit a country's ability to use this investment to achieve sustainable economic growth. This chapter also includes an analysis of trends in FDI flows to Thailand. The last chapter of this thesis combines the concepts of the previous two chapters and identifies the steps necessary for FDI to help Thailand escape the middle-income trap. The third chapter also includes a summary of the interviews that were conducted with experts on the Thai economy as part of the supplementary research. The aim of this thesis was to define the concept of the middle-income trap and to find out which factors are preventing Thailand from escaping this trap. |
