| Abstract: | Diplomová práce se zabývá udržitelností na trhu potravin v Německu, konkrétně problematikou plýtvání s potravinami. Hlavním cílem této práce je zhodnotit stav implementace principu udržitelného rozvoje na německém trhu potravin, zejména pak ve vztahu k plýtvání s potravinami. Jedním z dílčích cílů práce je ověřit, zdali v Německu ve vybraném časovém úseku během pandemie covid-19 (tj. v období mezi léty 2020 a 2021) nedošlo k nárůstu plýtvání s potravinami v souvislosti s plněním cíle 12.3. Dalším dílčím cílem práce je porovnat vývoj cen potravin v období let 2019 až 2021 a v období finanční krize mezi lety 2007 až 2009 s cílem zjistit, zda si odvětví vedlo lépe v rámci finanční krize nebo v průběhu pandemie. Období finanční krize je vybrané jako náhlá událost, která stejně jako pandemie otřásla s celosvětovou ekonomikou. V první kapitole jsou uvedeny základní východiska dostupné k tématu udržitelnosti a napojení na trh s potravinami. Druhá kapitola se již věnuje Německu a trhu s potravinami. Třetí kapitola obsahuje analýzu a identifikaci dopadů pandemie Covid-19 na trh s potravinami a plnění cíle OSN, který se věnuje snížení potravinového odpadu o polovinu. |

| Abstract: | The thesis focuses on sustainability in the food market in Germany, specifically on the issue of food waste. The main objective of this thesis is to assess the state of implementation of the principle of sustainable development in the German food market, especially concerning food waste. One of the sub-objectives of the thesis is to examine whether there has been an increase in food waste in Germany during the selected period during the covid-19 pandemic (i.e. between 2020 and 2021) concerning the implementation of target 12.3. The next sub-objective of the thesis is to compare the development of food prices between 2019 and 2021 and during the financial crisis between 2007 and 2009 to determine whether the sector performed better during the financial crisis or the pandemic. The financial crisis period is chosen as a sudden event that, similar to the pandemic, has shaken the global economy. The first chapter provides the background available on the topic of sustainability and the link to the food market. The second chapter already focuses on Germany and the food market. The third chapter analyses and identifies the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the food market and the achievement of the UN goal of halving food waste. |
