| Abstract: | Cílem této práce je zhodnocení dopadu přijetí eura na slovenskou ekonomiku s využitím Synthetic control method. Tato metoda využívá princip sestrojení syntetické kontrolní jednotky na základě vážených průměrů zvolených subjektů. Následně je porovnán vývoj syntetické a skutečné jednotky, což umožňuje zachycení rozdílu mezi situací s intervencí a bez intervence. Zjištěné výsledky ukazují, že po vstupu Slovenska do eurozóny došlo k rozdílnému vývoji oproti scénáři, ve kterém by ke vstupu nedošlo. Slovenská ekonomika zaznamenala růst HDP na obyvatele, přičemž odchylky mezi skutečným a syntetickým Slovenskem se v letech 2010-2016 pohybovaly okolo hodnoty 8 %. Tento pozitivní vliv ovšem v následujících letech postupně slábl a do roku 2021 úplně vymizel. |

| Abstract: | The aim of this work is to evaluate the impact of the adoption of the euro on the Slovak economy using the Synthetic control method. This method is based on constructing a synthetic control unit that consists of the weighted averages of the selected subjects. Subsequently, the development of the synthetic and the actual unit is compared, which allows to capture differences between the situation with and without intervention. The results show that after the entry of Slovakia into the eurozone, there was a different development compared to the scenario without the euro. The Slovak economy recorded growth in GDP per capita, while the deviations between real and synthetic Slovakia were around 8% in the years 2010-2016. However, this positive influence gradually weakened in the following years and completely disappeared by 2021. |
