| Abstract: | Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá vliv stresu a přítomnost „dušení se pod stresem“ u profesionálních fotbalistů a fotbalistek při zahrávání pokutových kopů v penaltových rozstřelech. Tento vliv je zkoumán logistickou regresní analýzou na datech z Mistrovství světa, Mistrovství Evropy, Ligy mistrů, Ligy mistryň a Olympijských her mezi lety 2014 a 2022. Z výsledného rozdílného vlivu stresu na výkon mezi muži a ženami práce analyzuje, zda je stres faktorem vysvětlujícím genderové nerovnosti na trhu práce. Teoretická část obsahuje přehled ekonomické literatury, ze které tato práce vychází. V empirické části jsou zpracovány dva logistické regresní modely. Výsledky práce naznačují výskyt „dušení se pod stresem“ při zahrávání pokutových kopů profesionály. Zároveň práce ukazuje nižší pokles výkonnosti u žen pod zvýšeným stresem než u mužů. Stres tudíž není aspektem, který by vysvětloval genderovou platovou nerovnost na trhu práce. |

| Abstract: | This bachelor thesis investigates the effect of stress and the presence of "choking under stress" in professional male and female soccer players during penalty kick shootouts. This effect is examined by logistic regression analysis on data from the World Cup, European Championships, Champions League, and Olympic Games between 2014 and 2022. From the resulting differential effect of stress on performance between men and women, the thesis analyses whether stress is a factor explaining gender inequalities in the labour market. The theoretical section reviews the economic literature on which this paper draws. The empirical part develops two logistic regression models. The results of the thesis suggest the occurrence of "choking under stress" in penalty kicks played by professionals. At the same time, we find a lower decrease in performance for women under increased stress than for men. Thus, stress is not an aspect that explains gender pay inequality in the labour market. |
