The owners of the printing business are considering selling it and want to find out an indicative price they could ask for in future negotiations. The objective is to value the business on a market value basis and to identify the key factors determining its final valuation. To evaluate the printing industry and the company's market position, a strategic analysis - a macro-environmental and micro-environmental analysis - was conducted using secondary data from statistical databases. Further, based on primary data from the financial statements of the printing company for the period 2018-2022, a financial analysis was conducted, and the resulting values were compared with the competitors. As a final step, the actual valuation of the business was developed using the income approach - discounted cash flow (DCF) method. The valuation showed that the resulting value of the business as of 1st November 2023 is CZK 30 571 927. In conclusion, it can be recommended that the owners should not demand less than the resulting value when selling the business. |
