| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce analyzuje vývoj fiskální politiky České republiky a Slovenska a udržitelnost veřejných financí těchto zemí mezi lety 2008 až 2022. Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je vyhodnotit fiskální politiku České republiky a Slovenska od roku 2008 do roku 2022 s dopadem na udržitelnost veřejných financí těchto zemí. V teoretické části diplomové práce jsou shrnuty základní pojmy a principy fungovaní fiskální politiky a uvedení do problematiky udržitelnosti veřejných financí, včetně představení pohledů jednotlivých ekonomických škol na tuto problematiku. V praktické části diplomové práce dochází nejprve k představení politického a ekonomického vývoje a následně je analyzována fiskální politika České republiky. Stejný princip je aplikován na Slovensko, přičemž na závěr analýzy každé země je představeno shrnutí klíčových problémů dané země a dále jsou nastíněna možná řešení směřující ke zlepšení současného stavu. Výsledkem analýzy je zjištění, že obě zemí trpí dlouhodobou neudržitelností svých veřejných financí pramenící zejména z hluboké strukturální nerovnováhy veřejných financí, spočívající na jedné straně zejména v nedostatečném daňovém inkasu a na druhé straně v nadměrném růstu vládních výdajů, jejichž dynamika růstu dosahuje vyšších hodnot než v případě hrubého domácího produktu. |

| Abstract: | This diploma thesis analyzes the development of the fiscal policy of the Czech Republic and Slovakia and the sustainability of the public finances of these countries between 2008 and 2022. The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate the fiscal policy of the Czech Republic and Slovakia from 2008 to 2022 with the impact on the sustainability of the public finances of these countries . In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, the basic concepts and principles of the functioning of fiscal policy are summarized and an introduction to the issue of sustainability of public finances, including the presentation of the views of individual economic schools on this issue. In the practical part of the thesis, the political and economic development is presented first, and then the fiscal policy of the Czech Republic is analyzed. The same principle is applied to Slovakia, while at the end of each country's analysis, a summary of the country's key problems is presented, and possible solutions aimed at improving the current situation are further outlined. The result of the analysis is the finding that both countries suffer from the long-term unsustainability of their public finances stemming mainly from a deep structural imbalance of public finances, consisting on the one hand mainly in insufficient tax collection and on the other hand in excessive growth of government expenditure, the growth dynamics of which reaches higher values than in in the case of gross domestic product. |
