| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce se zabývá studentskými půjčkami na studium na vysoké škole ve Spojených státech amerických. Současná studentská půjčka se v průběhu let podstatně zvýšila z důvodu rostoucích nákladů na studium a překonala půjčky na kreditní karty a auto. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, zda a příp. nakolik studium na kvalitní vysoké škole s vysokým školným, jenž může potenciálně vést k vysokému zadlužení studenta, může dále zásadně zvyšovat příjmové a majetkové nerovnosti ve Spojených státech amerických. První kapitola práce se zaměřuje na příjmové a majetkové nerovnosti v obecném měřítku, včetně interakce s vysokoškolským vzděláním. Ve druhé kapitole je problematika příjmových a majetkových nerovností vysvětlována na příkladu Spojených států amerických. Cílem třetí kapitoly je najít odpověď na otázku, zda studium na kvalitní americké vysoké škole s vysokým školným, kvůli němuž jsou studenti mnohdy nuceni vzít si půjčku, může dále přispívat ke zvyšování příjmových a majetkových nerovností ve Spojených státech amerických. Současně jsou rozebrána možná řešení dluhového zatížení studentů. |

| Abstract: | The diploma thesis deals with student loans for studying at a university in the United States of America. Current student loan debt has increased substantially over the years due to the rising cost of education, surpassing credit card and auto loans. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether and possibly how attending a quality college with high tuition, which can potentially lead to high student debt, can further fundamentally increase income and wealth inequality in the United States of America. The first chapter of the thesis focuses on income and wealth inequalities on a general scale, including the interaction with higher education. In the second chapter, the issue of income and wealth inequalities is explained using the example of the United States of America. The aim of the third chapter is to find an answer to the question of whether studying at a quality American university with high tuition fees, due to which students are often forced to take out loans, can further contribute to increasing income and wealth inequalities in the United States of America. At the same time, possible solutions to the student debt burden are discussed. |
