| Abstract: | Sportovní eventy jsou mezi lidmi čím dál oblíbenější a nemají pouze ekonomický význam, ale také jsou významné z hlediska cestovního ruchu. Záměrem práce je poskytnout čtenáři důkazy, že sportovní akce ovlivňují cestovní ruch a ekonomiku země více, než by se mohlo zdát. Diplomová práce z tohoto hlediska zkoumá sportovní event Eurobasket, který se v Praze konal v roce 2022. Dalším cílem této práce je potvrdit, že sportovní eventy ovlivňují cestovní ruch a zodpovědět, zdali jsou akce tohoto typu v Praze potřebné či nikoliv. Aby bylo cíle dosaženo, byl vytvořen dotazník rozeslaný hromadným ubytovacím zařízením v blízkosti O2 areny, díky kterému mohla autorka zhodnotit situaci z jiného pohledu. Byly také využity zdroje přímo od organizátora. Výzkum potvrzuje pozitivní vliv sportovních eventů na cestovní ruch v destinaci a pokud jsou v dobrých organizačních rukou, pak i pozitivní vliv na ekonomiku země. |

| Abstract: | Sporting events are becoming more and more popular among people and are not only of economic importance, but are also important in terms of tourism. The intention of this paper is to provide the reader with evidence that sporting events affect tourism and the economy of a country more than one might think. From this point of view, the thesis examines the Eurobasket sport event that took place in Prague in 2022. Another aim of this thesis is to confirm that sport events influence tourism and to answer whether events of this type are needed in Prague or not. In order to achieve this goal, a questionnaire was created and sent out to mass accommodation establishments near the O2 arena, which allowed the author to evaluate the situation from a different perspective. Sources directly from the organiser were also used. The research confirms the positive impact of sporting events on tourism in a destination and, if in good organisational hands, the positive impact on the country's economy. |
