| Abstract: | Tato práce zkoumá případ sportovní diplomacie Kataru. Její teoretická část obsahuje nejdůležitější teoretická východiska pro následující vývoj práce. Jsou jimi: propojení sportu a politiky, sportovní diplomacie jako součást veřejné diplomacie státu a organizace světových sportovních akcí. Následný výzkum ve své první části zkoumá motivace Kataru pro pořádání mistrovství světa ve fotbale v roce 2022 a poté analyzuje nejvýznamnější milníky sportovní diplomacie Kataru. Druhá část výzkumu se pak zaměřuje přímo na případ katarského mistrovství světa v kopané z hlediska korupční ságy FIFA a porušování lidských práv. |

| Abstract: | This paper examines the case of Qatar's sports diplomacy. Its theoretical part includes the most important theoretical background for the following development of the thesis. These are: the link between sport and politics; sport diplomacy as part of a state's public diplomacy; and the organisation of global sporting events. Subsequent research in its first part examines Qatar's motivations for hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup and then analyses Qatar's most significant sport diplomacy milestones. The second part of the research then focuses directly on the case of the Qatar World Cup in terms of the FIFA corruption saga and human rights violations. |
