| Abstract: | Cílem této práce je zhodnotit trendy ve výživě v Gambii v období let 2000 až 2020 a vysvětlit příčiny jejich trendů. První kapitola se zaměřuje na základní východiska práce. První část je věnována konceptualizaci výživy, kde jsou představeny všechny formy špatné výživy a jejich indikátorů. Je tu vysvětlena i souvislost mezi špatnou výživou a jistotou potravinového zabezpečení. Dále je tu představena vazba výživy a jistoty zabezpečení potravin na ekonomický růst, chudobu a vzdělání. Druhá část je věnována trendům ve vývoji výživy v rozvojových zemí a jejich hlavním příčinám na základě současné literatury. Později jsou uvedeny příklady dobré praxe v boji proti špatné výživě. Druhá kapitola ukazuje trendy ve vývoji výživy v Gambii, které jsou znázorněny v kontextu regionu a vybraných zemích. Trendy jsou znázorněny pomocí jednotlivých indikátorů popsaných v první kapitole. Druhá část popisuje hlavní příčiny ovlivňující trendy ve vývoji výživy v Gambii. |

| Abstract: | The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the trends in nutrition in The Gambia between years 2000 and 2020 and to explain the causes of these trends. The first chapter focuses on the basic premises of the work. The first part is devoted to the conceptualization of nutrition, where all forms of poor nutrition and their indicators are presented. The link between poor nutrition and food security is also explained. Furthermore, the connection of nutrition and food security to economic growth, poverty and education is presented. The second part is devoted to trends in nutrition in developing countries and their main causes based on current literature. Examples of good practice in the fight against malnutrition are given later. The second chapter shows trends in nutrition development in The Gambia, illustrated in the context of the region and selected countries. Trends are shown using the individual indicators described in the first chapter. The second section describes the main drivers influencing development trends in nutrition in The Gambia. |
