Tato diplomová práce pojednává o problematice holandské nemoci v Demokratické republice Kongo, která přestože je bohatá na mnoho nerostných surovin, patří mezi nejchudší země na celém světě. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda se na základě daných projevů (jako je reálná apreciace měny či růst zaměstnanosti v sektoru služeb) holandská nemoc v této zemi vyskytuje. Ze zkoumání vyplývá, že konžská ekonomika v současnosti netrpí holandskou nemocí dle její původní definice, její prvky se v zemi ovšem vyskytnout mohou z důvodu dalších existujících ekonomicko-politických problémů. |

| Abstract: |
This thesis discusses the issue of Dutch Disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which although rich in many natural resources, is one of the poorest countries in the world. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether Dutch disease is present in this country based on given symptoms (such as real currency appreciation or employment growth in the service sector). The findings show that the Congolese economy does not currently suffer from the Dutch disease as originally defined, but some aspects of it may be present in the country due to other existing economic and political problems. |
