Assessment of the Development of Future Defense Acquisition Plans, Goals, and Trends in the Czech Republic

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the evolution of defense acquisition strategies, objectives, and trends within the Czech Republic, emphasizing the contrasts between short-term and long-term developments. While at the same time analyze the present condition of the Czech Republic's defense industry capabilities, its procurement strategies, and the obstacles encountered in military modernization. The study therefore addresses the following research questions: What are the contemporary defense acquisition plans and goals in the Czech Republic, and how have they evolved? What factors influence the development of defense acquisition plans in the Czech Republic, and how do these factors contribute to the formulation of future goals? How does the collaboration and partnerships with NATO and other allies influence the development of defense acquisition plans in the Czech Republic? To what extent do international geopolitical events impact defense acquisition strategies and goals of the Czech Republic, and what adaptations are being made in response to these trends? Therefore, the thesis employs a case study approach to assess the complexities of defense acquisitions, drawn on secondary data sources to provide insights into the Czech Republic’s defense industry capabilities, procurement strategies, and responses to international geopolitical events. By examining the historical context, ally influences, economic impacts, and geopolitical consequences of the assessed defense acquisitions, the study aims to offer a comprehensive understanding of the Czech Republic's defense acquisition landscape and its implications for national security and international relations.
