Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zahraniční politikou prostřednictvím teorie vyvažování hrozeb Stephena Walta a snaží se v případové studii zjistit, jaké strategie zahraniční politiky využívá Nikaragua vůči Čínské lidové republice. Práce nejprve vysvětluje teorii vyvažování hrozeb a dva koncepty z ní vycházející - balancing a bandwagoning. Objasněním výzkumného záměru a aplikace teorie se práce dále zaměřuje na zahraničněpolitické směřování Nikaraguy a její interakce zejména s Čínskou lidovou republikou a Spojenými státy americkými. |

| Abstract: |
This bachelor's thesis examines foreign policy through Stephen Walt's balance-of-threat theory and seeks to identify, through a case study, the foreign policy strategies employed by Nicaragua towards the People's Republic of China. The thesis first explains balance-of-threat theory and two concepts based on it - balancing and bandwagoning. By clarifying the research design and application of the theory, the thesis then focuses on Nicaragua's foreign policy direction and its interactions with the People's Republic of China and the United States in particular. |
