Youth unemployment and active labour market policies in Spain

This bachelor’s thesis aims to determine the extent of youth unemployment in Spain and to examine and evaluate the response of the Spanish government through active employment policies. Youth unemployment is a serious problem for the Spanish economy, for example, because of the relatively recent numerous structural and other historical changes. High youth unemployment can have a major impact on the economic situation and development of this country. It is important to clarify why high youth unemployment has become rampant in this country. A proper understanding of this question can subsequently lead to finding more effective and appropriate solutions in this matter. Further, it is possible to better prevent the deepening of this issue and its negative projection into the state of the entire economy of Spain. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter presents the theoretical part of the work and defines key terms on the topic of unemployment. The following chapters form a practical part that focuses on determining the extent of youth unemployment in this country and the active employment policies applied by the Spanish government.
